Not Really A Special Power.
I have noticed in recent months at work that I can tell what kind of a night it's going to be within the first 5 minutes of the start of my shift. I don't think it's really a special power, just a feeling I get. Does anybody else ever get that feeling? You know, when you start work for the day/night and you think to yourself, "I should have called in sick today!" You can handle these kind of days in a few different ways. You can either get mad at things or you can take things in stride and not let them get to you. I opt for taking things in stride whenever possible. I usually try to make jokes to ease situations, but sometimes I realize that maybe it's just easier to let other people blow off steam. I learned a lesson about that many years ago at work. Someone was having a bad night, dealing a lot of quality issues concerning the parts they supplied to the line I was on. These parts were door panels and they came with a hole in them for the manual window crank. When this person asked if the parts were okay for us to use I said, "We can't use these parts....they have a hole in them!" The look she gave me was priceless. She wasn't in the mood for jokes. Anyway, all I could really think of last night was "Gratitude Attitude". I don't think that will work for everyone.
